1、与导演的沟通 首先要充分理解活动总导演对晚会的构思，和对灯光、舞美的具体要求。活动导演是把握全局的总体构思者，他要调动全体创作人员发挥各个专业的特长，互补各自的不足，力求把晚会活动搞好。灯光设计是其中很重要的专业，对晚会活动，灯光的总体设想应融于导演的总体构思之中，与导演随时将自己对晚会灯光的创作设想进行沟通和商量。有时，灯光设计师的创作构想会给导演一些启发，使导演总体构思产生了新意，对原来的设想要进行修改和补充。这种相互配合的二度创作，会使整场晚会活动达到最佳效果。
