开业仪式多在开业现场举行，其场地可以是正门之外的广场，也可以是正门之内的大厅。按惯例，举行开业仪式时宾主一律站立，故一般不布置主席台或座椅。为显示隆重与敬客，可在来宾尤其是贵宾站立之处铺设红色地毯，并在场地四周悬挂横幅、标语、气球、彩带、宫灯。此外，还应当在醒目之处摆放来宾赠送的花篮、牌匾。来宾的签到薄、本公司的宣传材料、待客的饮料等等，亦须提前备好。对于音响、照明设备，以及开业仪式举行之时所需使用的用具、设备，必须事先认真进行检查、调试，以防其在使用时出现差错。
